Stand off

For the past few mornings, as I breeze past the Hong Lim area, I am bemused to see hordes of policemen at the Speakers' Corner.

Any well-informed Sinkie would probably know... I thought such show of force was to quell violent demonstrations or unruly crowd. It was clear that the policemen outnumbered the "sub-standard protesters" and curious onlookers by a mile.

On a serious note, the security and sovereignty of our nation must not be taken lightly. Ask any bloke who grew up in the turbulent sixties.
